GET INVOLVED
Want to help preserve Eppes Cemetery for future generations? Here’s how to get involved.
Pitch in on Saturday, April 5, 2025, during the spring cemetery cleanup.
In case of rain on April 5, we’ve set Saturday, April 26 as the alternate date. Bring your mowers (big and small!), weed eaters, trash bags, rakes, and other yard tools. We’ll devote the entire morning to cleaning up gravesites, trimming trees and bushes, and removing trash and other debris. Don’t forget to bring your own lawn chairs, water, refreshments and snacks to share, sunscreen, and insect spray. Even if you are unable to participate because of physical limitations, we hope you will come, visit, and catch up with other family members. Thank you for your continued support!
Recruit younger family members to join you.
Bring a spouse, son or daughter, grandson or granddaughter, son- or daughter-in-law, cousin, niece or nephew, and friends to help and to introduce them to the historic Eppes Cemetery. Many of the younger generation have heard of Eppes, but they’ve never seen it first-hand to fully appreciate the cemetery’s historic significance to the Eppes, Simpson, Ford, Witherspoon, Cates, Tucker, Finch, McGullion and Hardwick families. Nor do many of our descendants realize that Eppes is an active cemetery, readily available for burials today. Even if you are unable to participate in the cleanups because of physical limitations, we hope you will come, visit, and catch up with other family members.
Make a generous financial donation.
With the exception of a shrinking income from drilling in the Haynesville Shale, Eppes is solely supported by financial contributions. The Eppes Cemetery Corporation is recognized by the IRS as a public charity, so your contribution is 100% tax-deductible. Donations are used to remove fallen trees, mow the property twice a year, and take care of other site maintenance issues as they arise.
Please make your check payable to Eppes Cemetery Corporation and mail it to:
